Hotjar recordings showed strong interest - users swiped, zoomed, explored variants - but then dropped off. The problem wasn’t interest; it was decision clarity. The UX was aesthetic-first, not conversion-first.
On product pages, the storytelling around fit, quality, and urgency wasn’t surfacing at the right time. Things like shipping speed, restock alerts, and size reassurance were buried, users had to hunt for confidence rather than being given it.
Then came the silent killer: returning users. Instead of converting better (which is typical), they were bouncing quicker. Our diagnosis? There was no memory or personalization logic. These users saw the same experience they already passed on, nothing improved or remembered them.
And behind it all, the internal team lacked the systems to test, learn, and iterate fast. Great creative instincts, but no structured CRO loop. That’s where we stepped in.
